For someone who says they love reading classics, there are so many classic books that I have never even tried to read. For this reason, in honor of my 30th birthday (which is today!), I have made a reading challenge for myself. I will read the following 35 classic books by the time I am 35. I’ll call it the 35×35 challenge. I do not claim that this was my own idea. I have seen the 30×30 challenge in other places, but since I’m too late for that, I decided to tweak it a little bit. This will allow me to read seven classic books a year. No problem, right? I do admit—I am a bit intimidated by some of the books on this list, such as Les Misérables. But to balance it out, there are some children’s classics in there as well, such as A Little Princess and Charlotte’s Web. Yes, believe it or not, I have never read Charlotte’s Web. Shocking. Something I am interested to see how I like is Agatha Christie. I have never been a great fan of mystery books, but I hope these will help me change my mind. So what do you think? Are there any books that I am missing? Any must-reads? Let me know in the comments!
To encourage me during this challenge, I will keep this list in a separate tab on by blog, and I will cross off each book as I read it. I can’t wait to see how it goes!
